Let’s be honest, Daylight Savings time isn’t something we look forward to. When Spring rolls around and we’re forced to set those clocks back an hour, a sense of dread and moodiness settle in. Every day starts to feel like a Monday morning, especially when setting our clocks back takes time away from our sleep schedule. Here are some tips and tricks on how to not just survive, but thrive during Daylight Savings time!
Eat Dinner Early
For most of us, we don’t have a set time that we eat dinner; It ranges from around 7 to 9pm. However, planning an earlier time to eat before Daylight Savings can help you to adjust your schedule and help you to get tired earlier. Changing it up and trying some new foods can be fun as well! From spaghetti tacos to macaroni burgers, it’s all up to you to make your day a little brighter and your stomach a little fuller earlier than usual!
Wash Your Face
Washing your face and moisturizing at night can help you to relax and sleep better as well as deeper. Feeling well-rested when your alarm blares in the wee hours of the morning seems like an impossible dream, but with these tips it becomes your reality. Starting your day by washing your face can also help you to wake up! Using cold water can help brighten those puffy eyes and give you a better attitude when going about your day. Plus, consistently washing and moisturizing helps prevent pesky wrinkles!! Bonus!
Reset Your Clocks Before You Go to Bed
Resetting your clocks before bed helps you to ignore the fact that time changed at all. You trick yourself into thinking it’s later than it is, causing you to go to bed earlier than you normally do! Going to bed earlier also helps make sure you get those full eight hours of sleep that you need!!
Treating yourself the next day to a morning coffee and donut, a midday cupcake, or even doing a pampering face mask can help you to start the day on a good note. The little things truly help to turn a bad day into a good one!
Positivity Sticky Notes
A simple way to make Daylight Savings time fun is to look at it as a fresh start. It’s like a second “New Year” and you can even use the time change to set new goals for yourself! One easy and cheap way to brighten up your day starts with buying a pad of sticky notes. Every day you can write a quote, goal, or just positive affirmation to tell yourself and stick it on your mirror! It’s such a simple way to brighten up your day.
