Whether you’re in class, at the library, or just meeting with your study group, there are essential items that should be in your bookbag at all times for the annoying moments life is going to throw at you. Whether it’s pouring down rain, your phone is dying, or your lips are just insanely chapped, if you follow this guide, you will always stay prepared. Here are a list of everyday items that you can keep with you so that you’re ready for almost anything on campus.
This is for obvious reasons. Rain always comes during the most inconvenient times, and ALWAYS on the days that you forget to check the weather. It rains on the days that you straighten your hair and you have your laptop in your bookbag. Nothing is worse than when your planner gets soaked and your handwriting is unrecognizable… Prevent these things from even happening by just carrying one at all times! (Bonus points if your bookbag matches your umbrella.)
Scented Hand Sanitizer
Flu season is here and hitting hard, but we might as well smell good while staying protected! Do your part and stay healthy, because the worst part is the people who are infected and still go to class! Though washing your hands is ideal, sometimes you just need some quick disinfectant! My fav is Bath and Body Works of course!
Portable phone charger
Forgot to charge your phone overnight? This baby has you covered. Mine is shaped like a pineapple, and it is my pride and joy!!
Keeping these in your bookbag is so important because you never want to be that girl who keeps everyone from staying focused because she can’t stop coughing in class… (we’ve all been there) I always try to help people out too! If I notice that someone is constantly coughing in class, I will smile at them and hand them a cough drop. They are always very appreciative!
I heard once that when you’re studying you should chew gum, then if you chew that same flavor while you’re taking the exam, it will cause you to remember more things!! Not sure if it’s true, but hey! Worth a try. 😉
We have all experienced that mini heart attack while you’re walking to class in the heat and you think to yourself, “Did I remember to put on deodorant?!” Don’t act like you haven’t! Save future you some trouble and just keep a mini stick in your bookbag! Easy Peasy!
Clean & Clear Oil Blotting Sheets
These are a lifesaver for my fellow oily girls! I hate having a shiny forehead, but if I apply too much powder throughout the day I will look cakey and break out. These things have been my best friends for preventing all of that from happening! If you’ve never used them, and have extra oily skin, then you’re missing out! (I am a broke college student, so I prefer to use the Walmart brand and save a few bucks!)
Walks to class go by a lot faster when you’re listening to your favorite song! It also improves your mood, which is a necessity when walking in frigid temps! Just throw your fav pair of headphones in your bookbag (don’t forget the iPhone adapter if you have one!!), and download a killer Spotify playlist! You’re all good to go!
Nivea Tinted Chapstick
Nobody likes to have dry lips. If you’re anything like me, you need to reapply your chapstick every. single. hour. This is my go to because it gives you a natural shade of pink.
Because sometimes you just need to throw your hair up and call it a day!!
What you have in your bookbag is so important. When I first started college, I only had the basics. (Pens, pencils, notebook, planner, etc.) I learned the hard way that these things are essential. Although this list can go on and on, these are the main items that I find useful on a daily basis. I hope that this guide will help you during those small, annoying moments in life so that you can focus on the big ones. If you think of any other ideas then comment them down below and share!!
